#8. Volunteer to cuddle and talk to babies in a local NICU.

Babies who are cuddled have better growth and stability and typically shorter hospital stays than babies who aren’t. Cuddler volunteers hold and talk to these babies when families are unvailable, freeing up medical staff to continue other important tasks. Contact your local NICU (neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital) to see if they have a cuddler volunteer program and, if so, how to apply.
